About The Mural
The Before
A blank slate. That is the best way to describe the original exterior of Cupboard Maker Books. The outside of the building was white and didn’t reflect the inside’s vast array of books.

How It Began
In 2014, the idea sparked to paint the outside of the building. Beginning in the spring of 2015, Jason Haring started painting blank book spines.
The Progress
Kristian Beverly began painting and adding details to the blank book spines.

Now
Over the past decade, more and more book spines have been added to the outside of the building. The featured books are all stories that employees and the mural committee enjoy. Every so often books are refreshed, which allows for a change in the lineup of books.
The Impact
Many author's books have been painted on the outside of the building. Some are well known around the world, while others are still building their readership. Cupboard Maker Books is honored to make an impact in the lives of any authors that have been memorialized on the building.
